Tips for visiting Corsica

🚗 You NEED to rent a car. Public transportation is basically non-existent on Corsica. You can either bring your own car on a ferry departing from mainland France (the popular port is Marseille) or if you’re flying to Corsica, rent a car. It is the only way you’ll be able to get around, see the sites and visit the beaches. You can also visit Corsica using a camping car! This is a really popular choice and there are a lot of campsites to choose from! For my most recent road trips, we’ve renting our cars from rentalcars.com, it’s been the easiest way to find the best deal!

💰Corsica is known for being expensive. Keep in mind that Corsica is known for being a rather expensive holiday compared to mainland France. Food and accommodations are typically more expensive. The best way to keep your expenses low is to stay in a place where you can prepare your own meals and bring picnics to Corsica’s beaches. But remember to leave no trace!

🗺️ Visit either the south or the north of the island. Don’t overestimate the size of Corsica! Typically, French people have a favorite side of the island, either the north or the south. But if you want to experience it all, you should allot enough time to get the full experience. I’d advise at least one week for each side of the island minimum depending on how much you want to see and do!

We chose this particular Airbnb because we were looking for a full apartment, with a beautiful view and a pool. We found everything we needed in this Airbnb! It is very well equipped and was perfect for our 2-week stay. Probably one of the best parts for us was how warm and welcoming the hosts were; 10/10 recommend!

If, by some chance, you are looking for one of the best places to work-from-home from you’ve come to the right place. Sitting on the patio, admiring the Corsican countryside at sunset was probably one of the most memorable moments I’ve had working online. It’s in those moments, when you’re admiring the breathtaking views from your ‘office’, that you truly forget that you’re working.
